Screening Rheumathoide Arthritis

Do you have an immediate relative affected by rheumatoid arthritis?

hands rheumatoid arthritis
fleche We are looking for persons directly related to a patient suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, who are willing to participate in a clinical study performed at academic hospitals in Switzerland
fleche The aim of the study is to assess whether screening can detect very early forms of rheumatoid arthritis in families of patients suffering from this disease. Indeed, it is well established that heredity plays a role in the development of this disease. Close relatives of people with rheumatoid arthritis are at greater risk of developing the same disease and in first-degree relatives this risk is estimated to be 3 to 8 times higher than in the general population.
fleche It is possible to estimate an individual risk of developing the disease using genetic and immunological blood test. If you choose to participate, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire and provide a blood sample. The results of these tests will be sent to you, with some explanations. We also ask that you keep us informed if you develop arthritis later (annual survey).

If you have a direct relative (brother or sister, parent or child) suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and you are between 18 and 75 years old, you can participate. If you are interested and would like more information, please contact the following address:
